DEPENDENCE OF CHARACTERISTICS OF SIGNAL OF FULL ELECTRONIC CON-TENT FROM THE ANGLE OF TILTING OF THE SENSING TRAJECTORY
Abstract
In the presented paper, the spectral component of the oscillations of the total electron content of the ionosphere, that corresponding to the period of 10 to 30 minutes and its dependence on the direction of the radiosonding is investigated. In the paper the data of total electron content of the ionosphere obtained by measuring the phase shift and pseudoranges of GPS signals are analyzed. The measurements were carried out on a two-frequency GPS receiver installed at the Institute of the ionosphere, Almaty. The data were used for the period from April 2015 to April 2016. The dependence of the spectra of the variations of the total electron content as a function of the position of the trajectory of the radio signal - the zenith angle and the azimuth from the stationary ground receiver to the satellite - was studied. It is shown that the spectral power of the oscillations of the total electron content depends on the zenith angle of direction from the receiver to the satellite and from the azimuthal direction. A possible variant for explaining the obtained dependence is proposed: propogating ionospheric disturbances having the form of regions of increased ionization that are elongated and inclined in the vertical plane at different angles and give a different contribution to the spectrum of total electron concentration.
