Abstract

Abstract. In the article the process of condensation of one dimensional gas is studied by molecular dynamics methods. Gas is modeled by linear chain of elastic particles located between the walls and interacting according to Lennard - Jones potential. In the initial moment all molecules are uniformly distributed and have the same kinetic energy; the directions of their velocities are random. Flow of energy is modeled through one wall, and the energy output is modeled through another wall. In the paper, the process of formation of a common stable cluster of all molecules is investigated.

Keywords: one-dimensional gas, stable cluster, molecular dynamics.
