COLD TEMPERATURE PLASMA JET AT ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE
Abstract
This paper presents the results of studies of the structure, electrical properties and temperature of the atmospheric pressure plasma jet in noble gases such as helium and argon. The length and shape of the plasma jet with at different gas volume flow rates and at different values of high voltage on the discharge electrodes were compared. It was shown that the plasma jet under atmospheric pressure generated on the basis of dielectric barrier discharge has a relatively low temperature and can be used for treatment of living cells and heat sensitive materials.
Keywords: cold temperature plasma at atmospheric pressure, dielectric barrier discharge, plasma jet, plasma temperature.
